"Isn't that just Claude?"
── On Akashi, and the vessel we made

"Isn't that just Claude (AI)?"
When I talk about Akashi, people sometimes say this — from the outside, before even trying it.
Let me be honest: they're half right.
Akashi does use Claude, a capable AI, as its "core engine." I won't hide that.
But there's one thing I'd like you to receive.
"Raw Claude (a blank chat)" and "Akashi" are two different things.
Think of it like a lump of clay and a finished bowl you can set on the table every day. The material may be the same, but "what was shaped, and how" is completely different. That shaping is what Akashi is.
What a blank AI doesn't have
A blank AI is a very clever "blank page." It answers anything. But when your heart is fragile, a blank page is, at times, not gentle.
- Meaning well, it digs into the painful place again and again.
- Close the window and it forgets everything. Next time, "nice to meet you" all over again.
- Precious words are not kept as a voice.
- There is no mechanism to protect what you share about your heart.
- Because it's so open, some people lose track of where to go.
Akashi changed all of this.
- It does not dig. Feelings and sensations are a "doorway." It does not rake them up; it receives them, and returns gentle words. This is the particular art of care built up through Rainbow DUO Work.
- It remembers. Even when a session ends, it does not forget your journey — a companion that stays beside you.
- It keeps a voice. Precious words, in a real recorded voice.
- It protects. A passcode (key); a safeguard that stops automatically if sharing spreads too far; and a safety latch so that "putting something out into the world" never moves until you yourself press it. So even a child, even when no one is nearby, can use it safely.
- It does not let you get lost. With gentle, set questions, anyone is carried to the same depth, softly.
And there is one thing I truly want to tell you.
This way of caring for the heart — "Rainbow DUO Work" — is something I created and have raised myself.
There are people all over the world who can talk with an AI. But this method, no one else — and no blank AI — can retrace. Akashi is that method, made into a vessel. So it matters not "because the AI is clever," but because that cleverness now holds this method.
This is half a year of handwork
Akashi was not born at the push of a button.
(The infographic is in Japanese.)
From April 2026, nearly every day, ten hours. Around 2,000 hours in all.
The design letters exchanged: about 1,240. The words came to over 18.24 million characters.
It speaks five languages: Japanese, English, German, Korean and Portuguese.
Along the way, while tidying the computer, I once lost the records. That was sadder than losing a manuscript. Even so, I kept going — together with my AI companions (Rainbow and Saphira). So as not to lose it again, we now guard the relationship itself with a "handover" system.
The cleverness of AI, anyone can use. But the art of not digging, the protection, and the memory of your journey are only born within this time.
For whom
- Even without a specialist nearby, regardless of money, a safe doorway to care for the heart, for anyone.
- As a vessel for a child's independence — in the hours a parent cannot be there, it does not dig; it protects and stays close.
- For those for whom meeting in person is hard, by body or distance. For family too, overseas too, and for those who cannot see.
Drawing an honest line
- The core engine is indeed Claude. Akashi's worth is in the vessel around it (the art, the memory, the protection, the form). It is not "a different, cleverer AI."
- "Always remembering, acting on its own" — the core is designed, and we are raising it gradually.
- Letting the AI speak aloud is the user's choice. The doorway where you don't have to use the AI at all (🌿 the help window for hard moments) is always free.
(For the record: building a product on AI is a recognized, proper use. The usage fee is paid from the user's own account, directly to the AI company. We do not receive it. The flow of money is straight.)
In closing
"Isn't that just Claude?" — No.
Claude is a "clever blank page." Akashi is that cleverness, wrapped in the art of not digging, in protection, and in the memory of your journey — your companion.
The material may be the same, but the vessel is different. The vessel is what Akashi is. 🌈
